THE ORIGINS OF REEPOLEE
I was born in Slovenija, a small piece of heaven between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. Ever since I started my IT journey back in 1986, I was responsible for the whole process from initial discovery and planning thru development to final delivery of software, hardware and long term after-sales activities. Many companies back then were doing the same and were registered as IT Engineering companies. We call them računalniški inženiring in Slovenian language. Though we don't sell hardware anymore, we still do offer a plethora of consulting, reselling and development services in different fields of IT and are in that sense polymorphous.
That's how Reepolee was born. I took an R from računalniški, I from inženiring and obviously poli. Now, in Slovenian that would be RIPoli. RIP didn't read or sound so good 😅, so I replaced the i's for ee's and there it was: reepolee. It sounded modern, yet kept the spirit, so it stick.
